Pakistan Urges Muslim Unity Against Israel
He cautioned that a lack of unified action would only embolden future aggressions throughout the broader Middle East region.
During an address to the National Assembly on Saturday, Asif asserted that Israel “did not act alone,” claiming the country had benefited from “intelligence, cover, and support.”
He emphasized that the Muslim world remained “militarily vulnerable” and insisted on a coordinated countermeasure.
“As Israel is presently striking Yemen, Iran, and Palestine, if the Muslim world does not unite today and keeps focusing on its own interests and agendas, then everyone’s turn will come,” he told members of parliament.
Asif also pressed for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to assemble and formulate a unified plan to confront Israeli actions.
He further demanded that any Muslim country maintaining diplomatic relations with Israel should “sever” those ties.
“We stand behind Iran and will support them at every international forum to protect their interests,” the defense minister emphasized.
Early Friday, Israeli Air Force warplanes launched attacks on Iranian military and nuclear targets and reportedly assassinated multiple high-ranking Iranian military officials and experienced nuclear scientists.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed the operation was meant to block Iran from obtaining nuclear arms.
In retaliation, Tehran fired a series of ballistic missiles at Israeli urban centers, including Tel Aviv.
