Fighting Resumes on Multiple Fronts in Southern Yemen’s Taiz
Fighting resumed in the Al-Aqroudh and Al-Masrakh areas, as well as in Al-Rahn village in the Sabir al-Mawadim district, according to the reports.
Separately, Aden International Airport has resumed flight operations following missile attacks on the facility and surrounding areas after the Houthis threatened to target it.
On Wednesday, a missile struck Al-Nasr Camp, located next to the airport and housing Yemeni Coast Guard forces and Interior Ministry headquarters, according to eyewitness accounts.
The Yemeni army later said two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis had hit the airport, causing property damage and injuring civilians.
The attack followed a warning from Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, who urged people at the airport to evacuate ahead of a planned strike, according to reports from a media outlet affiliated with the group.
Yemen’s conflict began in September 2014, when the Houthis took control of the capital, Sanaa, and several other provinces.
A Saudi-led Arab military coalition intervened in March 2015 to support Yemen’s internationally recognized government.
